Tea towels for Autumn fairs - real life and virtual...

Stocked up with a new batch of British Wildlife and Bristol tea towels in these amazing zingy colours - great timing as I have a few dates in the diary for the Autumn in real life and also in virtual life.

I have added them to my ETSY SHOP too if you want to hop over and take a look there - at the moment they are available in Pink, Yellow, Blue, Grey and just a couple of Peach.  Looking forward to seeing which colours are the popular ones this season!  A bright pop of candy pink could be just the thing...

The Bristol tea towels are going to head off to our local Etsy Pop Up shop this Christmas, but I am sure they will find their way online too before the month is out.

Lino Printing Workshops 2020

I have started adding a few Spring lino printing workshops to my website - keep an eye out...

They are suitable for beginners, improvers, craft explorers...so come along even if you think you can't draw or if you want to try something new - it is so much fun making your own printing blocks.

Website link is HERE

Feel free to send a message too if you can't make the dates that are listed or have something in mind as a project as I am often able to fit in extra slots at my studio in Bristol for some printy play!

How to lino print - workshop alert!

Beginners lino printing - I am so excited to be running another lino printing workshop - this one is for anyone, beginners or slightly more experienced lino printers and we will be using nature as inspiration (perfect in Autumn as there is so much inspiration to be found in nature, all those lovely leaves, seed pods, nuts and berries etc).

This workshop will be in Bristol on Sunday 13th October, so if that sounds good to you follow the link here to get all the details and book on....

September exhbition

After a summer break and then a lot of beetle carving it is time for a show - really excited to be part of an art exhibition called NATURAL HABITATS in Bristol at The Malago on North Street.

It has been organised by TRIBE AISTHETICA and there rare three of us showing nature inspired work, so definitely worth popping in if you are in Bristol.

I have several pieces based on drawings of birds and beetles I have made in Bristol Museum, where I have been lucky enough to spend time in the stores with some of the amazing collections held there.  The beetles are mostly burying beetles and it has been fascinating studying them so closely.

The show runs 2nd September - 6th October if you fancy calling in.

Bristol Craft and Flea

Is three days notice enough?  I am going to be at the Craft and Flea in Bristol on Bank Holiday and it would be so great if you came along to say "Hello"!

I will have lots of my lino prints of course as well as lots of Bristol themed goodies - tote bags, mugs, cards and so on - I am so excited, having seen the exhibitor list it is going to be amazing fun.

Lino Print Exhibition

All hung and the show is open - if you are in Bristol it would be so lovely if you popped in and had a coffee/beer with my lino prints...

The Tobacco Factory - Bristol

Lots of birds and animals, a few of Bristol and also some of my new botanical lino prints are there too, so a good old mix.

If you can't get to Bristol then Etsy  or Folksy are good places for a browse too!

Lino Print Exhibition at Tobacco Factory, Bristol

Really excited to be putting an art show together for an exhibition at the Tobacco Factory in Bristol!

It will run from October 17th until November 27th and will be in The Snug, so a great excuse to go eat there, meet some friends, have a hot chocolate - I think I may end up hanging out there every single day :)

The really hard part is choosing which lino prints to exhibit, because I have been working on three new series of prints and want to show them all to everyone...but actually that would be a terrible, cramped mess so I had better get curating!

I really hope you can come and have a look at the show.

So good to be printing on a sunshine day - and it makes the gold ink on these little Bristol notebooks look really fab too!  Having a busy week stocking up for art trails, print fairs and topping up stock at some of my lovely galleries...

A year ago already...

This time last year I was printing madly ready to spend two weeks my own pop-up shop in the middle of Bristol.  It was so much fun having it and great to be able to have so many products in one place.

Also great was having a huge flock of laser cut birds from my lino print hanging in the window...

The shop was organised by the fab Etsy in Bristol team - how lucky was I!

Lino Print Exhibition

I've got an exhibition of my lino prints at the moment if you fancy popping in...it is in Bristol at No 1 Harbourside on the docks.

Even more excitingly you can come to the Private View if you are in town - 12th July 7:30-9:30 - yay.  There is going to be a print lucky dip....

Spring printing projects

I find the sunny, lighter days are perfect for a flurry of lino cutting activity...

In the past week I have lino cut the Teeny Tiny Bridge you can see in the photo, a flock of birds, an angry goose, an alien, a girl climbing over a mountain range and a herd of wild boar.

Next I need to print a whole lot of cards for our local arts trail in May, because that will be here in no time at all, lickety-split...

Pop-Up lino printing shop

Hurray, my Pop-Up shop in Bristol is now open :)

It's in The Galleries Shopping Centre right on the top floor & I've filled it up with lino prints, tea towels, tote bags, handprinted cards, gift tags, pencil cases, notebooks and lots of other things too :0)

It even has a jolly big sign with my name on it above the door - how exciting....

The shop is open everyday until the end of 13th Nov so if you can, pop in!

27.10.16

Lots of handprinted bits and bobs...

...and some laser cut birds too!  So excited to have my lino printed birds turned into a lovely wooden flock.  That is my week filled up now, playing with wooden birds :)

Several of these printed goodies have found their way into my Folksy shop so you can always pop over there if you would like to!

23.10.16

It's a pop-up!

If you are in Bristol then you really will be able to find me in The Galleries for two weeks starting on 31st October, all the way through til the 13th November.  Hurrah!

It is a little nook on the top floor right past TKMaxx on the way to the Car Park.

I am planing to fill it up with lino prints, tea towels, canvas bags, cards, gift tags, beer mats, pencil cases, kindle cases - what else can I print on?

You are of course most welcome to pop in to my pop-up nook :)

26.6.15

Lino peelings and bits everywhere...

I'm back at it...

The floor feels like a gravel path now, what with walking about barefooted in this tropical June weather.  It would be silly to clear up as it will just happen again.

So far I have cut out about 500 raindrops, some waves, another little Bristol thing and some circles.

I am contemplating a snowstorm, a lemur, three crows standing on the ground and a puffin on a cliff top.  Oh, and I do keep looking at some fabric that seems too plain and could be jazzed up a bit using the medium of lino printing, but maybe I have printed on enough of our house already?  How can you tell when you have reached that point?

Things I've printed this week....

Only a few days in and already the May print production line has been in full swing!

23.4.15

Getting ready for our Arts Trail in May...

I've started framing a few pictures up to show at our local Arts Trail in South Bristol, which is coming up soon :)

The Southbank Arts Trail has been going for over a decade now, so quite a fixture and also a brilliant sociable affair - as always I have several new prints forming in my mind which I would love to have ready in time, but we will see....

The photo shows my print "Black Cat devouring a City".

New Bristol lino print

Work in progress...

A little skyline of Bristol has been emerging this week...
Hopefully a local would recognise a couple of the buildings, but that handy bridge is all you need to make it 'Bristol'!!

Tomorrow will be editioning day - I've stocked up with paper ready - nothing will stop me....
