Lino Print postage update

I am still sending out lino prints to wherever they need to go - I am lucky enough to have a Royal Mail Parcel Postbox really close to my house, so I can buy online postage and then feed the into the box - so still sending out lino printed tapirs, dancing dogs and lines of hares ready for birthdays, cheer up post, sprucing up your home office or just because you fancy a golden Pilea in a Pot...

...thanks so much for all recent orders, it has been great fun writing birthday cards on behalf of friends and family and sending them off into the world!

Lino print sort out!

I have spent the last few days having a studio sort out - always a dangerous task to start as who knows what will be unearthed in the process.

These Seagulls have re-appeared from the bottom of the lino print drawer.

Lots of unfinished lino blocks too, all asking for a bit of attention....

New Three Hares lino print

I've just had a jolly old time making this big hares lino print!

My 'Line of Hares' (the smaller print) has been really popular and I have loved printing it, so I decided to play around with the scale a bit.  I'm so happy with the result as well.  I think of them as 'big' because I am so used to seeing my usual quintet, but they are actually about 16 cm high.  With so much more black in the image they are a little harder to print as i am still hand burnishing them, but definitely worth it.

Lino printed birds

I've been doing a lot of drawing in a Museum store, focusing on the bird scientific study skins...
It's been the best as a way of focusing on drawing skills.  The images I am making are just slightly different to the Foxes at the Disco though!

Don't worry - a few animals having a boogie are bound to fight their way out soon.

Three Foxes at the Disco - lino print

Three Foxes at the Disco, they are ready for a great night out dancing!

It's nearly December which is definitely party season - and great to have a bit of shimmer to brighten up the Autumn gloom...

Everybody at the table - lino print frenzy!

Due to having a long list of other things to do I have managed to get quite a few new lino prints started this month...the other things can go away :)

This one is now proofed and ready to go - I've called it 'Everybody at the table' and especially enjoyed cutting out tiny little guinea pigs.  We don't always keep ours on the table.

So good to be printing on a sunshine day - and it makes the gold ink on these little Bristol notebooks look really fab too!  Having a busy week stocking up for art trails, print fairs and topping up stock at some of my lovely galleries...

A year ago already...

This time last year I was printing madly ready to spend two weeks my own pop-up shop in the middle of Bristol.  It was so much fun having it and great to be able to have so many products in one place.

Also great was having a huge flock of laser cut birds from my lino print hanging in the window...

The shop was organised by the fab Etsy in Bristol team - how lucky was I!

Not Blinking - lino cut

Hot off the press - well, wet off the press actually.  Oh, and I don't use a press at all, I hand burnish them all.

Here's my newest lino print 'Not Blinking'.

One of my favourite lino tasks is to cut out a whole lotta eyeballs, so this image is high on my list of good lino blocks to carve...

It's hanging out here at the moment if you want to look at it a bit more :)

Two Swans

Spring is so nearly in the air...
Time to gather up a huge pile of nesting material swans.  Last year we spent a bit of time watching a swans nest near to where we live and now, months later, I have finally got round to making a lino print of it  It's hanging out on Folksy too in my little shop, if you would like to visit :)

Printing copper birds

With copper ink rolled out for another project I had to have a little play around and these birds were very keen to be printed in copper - how could I say no?

Lots of birds feathers have a beautiful sheen to them, often almost metallic so it seems like the right ink to use...

Now I want to try all the other lino blocks I have in 'shiny' too!

Flocks

Such a great time of year here, when all the birds start flying in for winter!  Geese are back :)  Time for the starlings to go, but they are still here, lining up on the roof top chittering and chattering...

I need to restock some of my prints and it would be great to do it this week ready for a break and a pause, but maybe the pause has started already!  See you in 2017.

Best Seller!

In the Autumn I always sell lots of local prints, great as pressies for anyone with a Bristol connection, and this year has followed that pattern...

The next best seller has been the lino print above - Three foxes at the Disco
Perfect for groovy dancers!

Pop-Up lino printing shop

Hurray, my Pop-Up shop in Bristol is now open :)

It's in The Galleries Shopping Centre right on the top floor & I've filled it up with lino prints, tea towels, tote bags, handprinted cards, gift tags, pencil cases, notebooks and lots of other things too :0)

It even has a jolly big sign with my name on it above the door - how exciting....

The shop is open everyday until the end of 13th Nov so if you can, pop in!

New prints on Folksy

I spent a happy ENTIRE day playing on my computer and making pictures of pictures...
This now means that there are a whole flurry of new lino prints listed in my Folksy shop - huzzah!!

I'm sure I've forgotten to do a lino print of a very important animal, so am aiming to do one of everything, but seem to often get stuck on the bird section....oh well....
