Lino Print Exhibition
I've got an exhibition of my lino prints at the moment if you fancy popping in...it is in Bristol at No 1 Harbourside on the docks.
Even more excitingly you can come to the Private View if you are in town - 12th July 7:30-9:30 - yay. There is going to be a print lucky dip....

recent commission
Here's the just inked lino block from a commission I completed a couple of weeks ago - you'll have to look at it in a mirror if you want to see what it looks like printed (no, don't use your computer, use a mirror, it will be much more fun)...
A little slice of Bristol, showing especially requested landmarks and features and really good fun to carve out, with all the little houses up on the hill above the docks.
I love the moment (usually) when you first roll ink onto a lino block and the image really reveals itself in such a bold way - no hiding any little bits you weren't sure about now, especially if you are using the blackest of black ink, which I usually am.

tea towels ready to deliver
My new dockside tea towels are going to be in the museum shop at Bristol's nearly open museum 'MShed' - it opens on the 17th June so they are busy putting all the stock in ready and it looks really exciting because they are going to have lots of local Bristol artists, makers, crafts people and other local goodies (even some Bristol made chocolates - yum)...and quite right too for a museum about and for the people of Bristol!
Meanwhile it is quite exciting seeing all the tea towels piled up together ready to deliver...

new tea towel
....at last it's time to show everyone my new teatowel - hurray...
...this one is very specific to Bristol, so don't worry if you've not been here! Locals will recognise the cranes and the tug 'John King' which are a great local landmark down on the dockside. We've got a new museum opening down there in mid-June and I thought this would be a good celebration of all things 'dockside' while we are all in the mood.
(I should have waited for a better day to take a photo, but I couldn't - it's been extra windy here for days now and that really does not lend itself to outdoor tea towel photography - I was too impatient for a calm, sunny day and will take some better ones soon)

'crowds get bigger towards the back'
the house is starting to resemble a warehouse,
this is just the tip of the iceberg,
so all playing/hobbies/housework are off as noone can touch anything without a sharp intake of breath from me as I try to remain cool about it all as I have created this situation and the chaos will continue until the end of the month.
